CHAPTER 3

WHO'S YOUR DADDY?

“This you?”

Ameen stepped to Renae when she exited the stage—dick still hard, but all about business.

When she took the picture from his grip and gave it a long, hard stare, he analyzed her from head to toe, wondering how the fuck she ended up in a club like Purple Diamond, and with a pimp like Kano.

“Used to be,” she said as she handed him back the picture. “Who wants to know?”

“Silas Roosevelt. Your father.”

A confused expression washed over Renae’s face as she took a good look at Ameen. She thought there was no way he could be her father. He looked too young and had just eye-fucked her while she was on stage.

“Yeah, right,” she laughed. “Look, if you want a private show, you gotta go through him,” she pointed at Kano, who looked like he was foaming at the mouth because he was so angry. “And it won’t be til later because I have other clients.”

Ameen turned to give Kano a wicked look. He wanted to kill him right there in the club. Not necessarily because of Renae, but because his boss’s daughter was stuck in a life that he wouldn’t have approved of.

“Silas was my boss,” Ameen said. “He’s been looking for you for a long time.”

Renae peeped the seriousness in his tone and expression, and it reminded her of all the times she wished she had her father in her life. Or at least knew who he was. She thought maybe her life would have been different if she had a dad, but when she looked around the club and saw what her life had become, she felt like it was too late.

“How I know you ain’t some sex trafficker tryna trick me into leaving with you?”

Ameen almost let out a cackle because tricking bitches into leaving with him was something he never had to do. He had his pick of the litter and even had women fighting over him from time to time. If it wasn’t for the promise he made to Silas, he would have never stepped foot in Memphis again in the first place.

“Your mom was a junkie. She took you away from your dad when you were six months old because he stopped funding her habit. When she came back to Memphis, he outlawed anybody from serving her. You were in foster care in Virginia for a while, but ran away and was never heard from again.”

As he ran down his list of facts, Renae started to let her guard down.

Not many people knew where she was while she was in Virginia, so she figured if he had that kind of information on her, he either knew someone in the system, or he wasn’t lying about knowing her father.

“How do you know all this?” She folded her arms to cover her breasts.

“I worked for your dad,” Ameen said. “And I ain’t tryna be in this club all night, so… if you get dressed and come with me, I’ll fill you in on everything.”
