CH 8 | LOVER'S ROULETTE

Mila tries to move on, but jealousy flares when Mega shows up with another woman. Drama unfolds as secrets and emotions collide at the ball.

Mila and Bonnie were already at the ball drinking and turning up, waiting to see if they would spot Mega. Polo was also there, trying to be all up in Mila’s face. She didn’t tell him the reason she asked him to come was to break it off with him for good, so he was under the impression she really wanted to see him.

Bonnie didn’t think it was a good idea for them to be together while they were drinking, and Mila was in her feelings about Mega because she knew how Mila could get. As much as she tried to lie about being done with him, she was still attracted to Polo.

“Girl.” Bonnie growled in Mila’s ear. “What the fuck are you doing?”

“What?" Mila shrugged. "It’s not that serious.”

“If Mega sees you smiling and cheesing in this nigga's face, he gonna kill us both. And I’m not trying to die. I got shit to do.”

“Chill out.” Mila rolled her eyes and downed her shot. “Mega made up his mind. Fair game. We're here to have a good time. Fuck all that extra shit."

“Is it?" Bonnie asked. "Because I’m pretty sure if he walked in here with a bitch right now, you wouldn’t feel like it was.”

As soon as the words fell from Bonnie’s lips, in walked Mega. With Jordyn on his arm. Looking like the modern day Duke and Duchess of Moulin Rouge.

“Speak of the devil.” Mila gave them a dirty look. “Wow. I knew it was something holding him back. Never thought it would be another bitch.”

“Wow is right!” Bonnie said, throwing googly eyes in Jordyn's direction. “That bitch is bad!”

“She is. I’ll give her that. Piece of shit.”

Downing another drink, Mila kept her eyes locked on the couple all the way from the entrance to their seats up in V.I.P. Everything in her wanted to run over to that section and grab Jordyn by her hair and drag her outside to kick her ass. But she held herself together so she wouldn’t fuck up her and Bonnie’s night.

“You good?” Bonnie asked.

“I’m great.” She replied almost before Bonnie could finish her question. “He made his choice.”

“Mila,” Bonnie rolled her eyes, “you’re my girl, and I love you, but you know you were doing wrong way before this. You can’t be mad at him for moving on.”

“Mhm.”

Mila didn't want to hear anything Bonnie said to her after seeing Mega with another female. All she wanted to know was who the bitch was with her man. She even forgot all about Polo being there, who suddenly began to get on her nerves by grabbing and groping all over her.

“Look.” Jordyn pointed down to Polo and Mila sitting at the bar.

“I saw.” Mega nodded. “Why are we worried about them?” he asked, getting closer to her. “You wanna go down there?”

“No. Just saying.”

“Well, don’t speak on what’s not important.”

He was so sexy to her with his mask on. The way the white hit off the complexion of his skin melted her panties. If they weren’t in a room full of people, she would’ve hopped right on it.

“You’re right," she said. "My bad."

“You want a drink?”

“I don’t really drink.”

“You wanna smoke? Your mom does.”

“She does," Jordyn laughed. "I’ll have a drink, though, just not too much. I gotta be able to take care of myself if something happens.”

“Ay,” Mega gently lifted her chin. “I got you. Alright? Ain’t nothing gonna happen to you while you with me. That’s my word. Have fun. Go crazy if you want.”

There was a twinkle in her eye after his speech. Jordyn believed every word he said and no longer had a worry in the world. For the time being, at least.

“You know, you make it real easy for a girl to fall for you. It's hard to believe you only deal with one female at a time.”

“Good guys can’t be faithful?” He asked while rolling up a blunt on the table in front of them.

“Most of you aren’t.”

“I guess I’m the rest then.”

After seeing Mila with Polo, there was a major weight lifted off Mega’s shoulders. He felt a way at first, but after lighting up his blunt, he charged it to the game.

He also patted himself on the back for knowing that Bonnie wasn’t shit from the first day they met. Yeah, he may have been a loyal friend to Mila, but Mega knew he knew what Mila had running all along. That was why he never liked him.

“Megz! What it do, my guy!?” Layton finally made her way to their section looking fly as always. “Who’s this pretty young thing?” She asked, flipping her glasses down. “Where’s Mila?”

Mega pointed towards the bar.

“This is Jordyn. Jordyn, this is my right hand, Layton.”

“Nice to meet you.” Jordyn shook her hand.

“Same.”

Layton knew when Mega was quiet that meant he had something on his mind. And being that Mila was sitting at the bar with the guy she claimed to not want anything to do with, Layton already knew what he was thinking.

“You good, Big Dawg?” she asked.

He passed her the blunt and gave her a look she was familiar with. He was pissed and wanting to do something reckless, but he was still good.

“It ain’t even worth it," Layton said. "I been telling you for the longest about that girl. She cool and all, but at the end of the day, you can’t take a female away from a nigga she loves. No matter how dirty he doing her. She gotta be ready for that on her own.”

“Definitely," Mega nodded. “But look,” he got closer so Jordyn wouldn’t overhear them. “She was fucking with Polo too.”

“WHAT!” Layton spazzed. “That's crazy as hell, yo!” Layton laughed. “But fuck that nigga. Let him have Mila. Keep this one.”
