I’ve been with my fiancé for three years. We’ve been planning our wedding for months, and everything seemed perfect. That was until I found out my best friend slept with him behind my back.
It all started last week when I went through his phone while he was in the shower. I’m not proud of it, but I saw a message from her that said, “Last night was amazing. We can’t keep doing this. I don’t want to lose you.”
My stomach dropped.
I called her and she denied it at first, but then she came clean. She said it was a one-time thing that happened when I was out of town for work. She swore it would never happen again, but I can’t shake the thought of my best friend betraying me like that.
He begged for forgiveness, telling me he didn’t mean it and that it was a mistake. He said he was drunk and wasn’t thinking straight, and that he was ready to marry me and put everything behind him. She apologized too, but her words feel empty now.
The real kicker? I’m still thinking about going through with the wedding. I’ve loved him for so long, and I’ve always imagined my life with him. But I can’t ignore the betrayal.
Now, I’m stuck. Do I marry him and move past this, or do I break it off and start over, even though it’ll break my heart?
